I visited Moab with friends in '98. I was amazed with the sites of natural beauty. Being from Montana myself I know how pretty the West and surrinding areas can be. My mom always said that "GOD started with his paintbrush in the west". I really enjoyed my visit even though the friends and I no longer get along. H.L.G.R

My husband and I fisrt visited Moab last July after other mountain bikers insisted that we ride there. We stayed for 5 nights and we were more pleased than we thought we would be. We are from a beautiful place our selves (Victoria, BC) but nothing else is like this place. The Moab information site really helped planning our trip, I wouldn't have been able to do it the same without it. This July we are staying for 10 nights, I would move here if I could.

I spent one week in Moab. Got home to New Hampshire yesterday. Moab is a natural wonder!!!! loved every minute. I was expecting more healthier restaurants. I guess I expected more bikers type food (like granola restaurants.) But, the food hasn't deterred me I am trying to organize a trip out to Moab one more time in the year 2000.

I am awe struck by the beauty of the area and the majesty of the svenery and I would like to thank the creators of the website for making this information available.

Am visiting Moab/Arches National Park in May with a friend from Colorado. We plan to camp and wondered if anyone has suggestions. I booked a site at Arch View but was wondering if staying in town at the Canyonlands RV Park might be a better idea. Any suggestions or other ideas?? Thanks! And am looking forward to three days of hiking!

Great webpage! Have hiked in the Canyonlands last June with my cousin visiting from Italy. Took her on an 8 mile sort of improvised (became strenuous) hike in extremely hot weather conditions with very little water(testing endurance)while entertaining her with stories of people who never made it, nor returned from the Green river.....So much for a memorable Utah vacation Veronica who is used to hiking the Italian Dolomites said she will be back for more, so will I. Possibly prepared. Have returned in September for more hiking. Plan on biking Slick Rock this May with my husband. Great destination! Drawn to it! Any good capuccino place in Moab, anyone? Haven't spent much time in town.

The end of April, 2000 will mark my 20th visit to Moab and surrounding area. I am an avid 4x4 enthusiast as well as a hiker who has done every trail in Canyonlands. If all of you who visit and love the Moab area as much as I do, please take the time to express your opposition to the land grab being promoted by the environmental extremists, who would deny us access to the land owned by us all. Thanks!

I have been in Moab many times but not for serveral years. It was always a wonderful place to come an visit. However, I get discouraged with the number of people who visit because more and more regulations are imposed. I will be coming down on March 17th to run the Moab half-marathon. It's the first time and I understand that the course is beautiful. My wife is coming with me. She has never been in the canyon lands and I am looking forward to showing her as many sites as possible. Looking forward to seeing Moab again.

Moab is my favorite place in the world. I go down there every chance i get(wich is at least 2 times a year). I have alot of family and friends who live there. I love going camping at Jhonsons (by Kens lake). me and my cousin and his friend went rabbit hunting there last time i was down. I will be down ther for spring break in April. Last spring break i was down there me and my cousin jeff rolled his 72' Blazer. Not diging but just got done digging and on the way home he lost control and flipped it on the road. If any one is thinking of taking a vacation any where i would definately recomend Moab. After all tese years and hundreds of trips I sill cant get over the red rock. If any one from moab reads this e-mail me I would like to talk.

I spent my vacation in Moab in February 2000, went 4 wheel driving on the Gemeni Bridges trail..absolutely magnificent! This was the fifth vacation we have spent in Moab. My favorite spot is Thompsons Springs, the 4wheel drive trails north of Thompson, into Sego Canyon, the ancient petroglyphs and the remote, lonely pioneer cemetery in Thompson Canyon was beautiful in its setting of canyons and cliffs. Bought a new jeep in 1996 to enjoy the four wheel drive trails around Moab. Will be back again to spend next years vacation in January 2001.Thanks for the hospitality and friendly people!

My boyfriend served his mission in Moab, Utah, and other areas of Utah for two years. He returned home to North Carolina in July of 99. I took a trip with him and my older brother to Moab Utah, about three or four weeks ago. I absolutely loved it! It was so beautiful. I reccomend this area to everyone that reads this! It's a definate must visit place! We went to birthing rock, and ate at the Moab Diner. We stayed in his apartment with his roomate, for a few days. We took pictures of the La Sal mountains, and of everything else that our eyes could catch. My brother and Brian(my boyfriend) climbed what is called the Indian Ladder. They had a blast. I would definately love to visit there! I am thinking of moving there, while Brian, is in the Air Force in Texas. If anyone has any information to send to me via email or home address, please do send it. I am looking for info on job offerings, and apartment info. Here is my email address: lds_TwilaDawn-hotmail.com home address: 489 Haven Trail SW Shallotte, NC 28470 If anyone from Moab sees this message and would like to get in touch with their old missionary pal, Brian Freeman, then contact me at the above two addresses. A BIG HELLO FROM BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA -Just wanted to say that your "site" is really great! My father introduced me to Moab just a few years ago when he, my uncle, and a few other guys bought property there. Needless to say, I have fallen in love! Your town is a beautiful place for an Alabama girl to visit from time to time. I don't know of any other place in the world that you can go from extremely hot temperatures (riding horseback with Buzz and his family or rafting nearby) to freezing (with a few inches of snow under the tires of your jeep in the La Sal Mountains). -All in the middle of June! I am so excited to have such a beautiful place to visit!!! Great decision Dad! Knowing that I will not be able to visit soon, I will continue to stock up on new cowboy (well, cowgirl) hats, new hiking shoes, camping gear, sunscreen, film, etc., and visit your site when I get that "Moab Itch." Thanks for being there!

Born in Moab 1943, left for Oregon 1944, returned in 1954...graduated 1962; learned most every nook and cranny of the north hillside cliffs encasing "my" Little Green Valley"...and cry alligator tears when I check out the photos of those beautiful gold and red sandstone carvings only God could create. It has changed, but the breath-taking vistas remain. Purity, thy name is Moab. I shall hold her in my heart always...

I have been to Moab many times and have always enjoyed it. The city is "visitor friendly" and remains one of my favorite destinations. My best memories have been with the Jeep Safari. The trails are some of the best in the nation and it is great that the city supports organized off-road activities. Happy (and safe) 'wheeling.

I have been going to Moab for my past 4 summer vacations and just can't enough it. Excellent Camping, Hiking, Biking whether it be on the Red Rocks or in the La Sals. The town has all you need to sustain your needs as far as food, drink, People, Hotels, etc. without getting that feeling of being victim of a tourist town. (MOAB IS REAL) of Ski town

Moab is the best place on Earth, and I have travelled all over the world! My husband and I would visit Moab for the Jeep Jamboree on Easter weekend. Now that we live on the East Coast, we have not been to Moab in a couple of years, but will go back the summer of 2000! We have been up Lion's Back a few times, and it remains scary! Please don't litter on the Bike Trail..it used to be free to use. My favorite jeep trail is Poison Spider. I miss Utah, and especially Moab. That is where my soul lies....

There was so beautiful and different landscape what we have here in Europe and I cannot wait next time to visit again, theres so much to see and experienced. I can't get enough of this part of the country. Worked at Natural Bridges NM in 1978, returned in 1979 and 1981 for a visit, took my wife here for our honeymoon in 1983, came back last year with my wife and 5 kids, and am returning in a couple of weeks with our 6 kids for 10 days including Thanksgiving.

Visited the Moab area and all its wonders a few years ago. Often I think of the township and its surroundings and the great clean weather that is Moab. I would like to know more about employment opportunities, if possible, in and around Moab and the La Salle Mt. region. Thanks a bunch!

Spent last week mountain biking: Slick Rock- a blast, Porcupine Rim- the best Jackson Hole- sandy, Moab Rim- cool, Goldbar Rim and Portal Trail, unreal. Everyone was nice, natives maybe a little cold.... I come from a tourist town in upstate NY and natives are important. We have a McDonalds too. Better stop right there and stick with local talent. Be advised. If I were to complain about anything its the map I bought at the info center. The trails are more complex then the map shows. It would be more enjoyable, and less frustrating. I'll be back to ride again, but please don't make the city any bigger, careful! Paul Mills

I've only been to Moab once and had a great time hiking the Delicate Arch and biking Gemini Bridges. I found the ride O.K. but know that Moab has more to offer than this ride. It was packed with Jeep's so we were breathing exhaust the entire time. I am a beginner rider and am looking for suggestions on rides for my trip this weekend. I prefer loops with as little cars as possible. If anyone is familiar with Mary's Loop outside of Fruita, this has been my favorite ride to date. Thanks! Jamie

This was my first trip West. Moab seemed like the best area to headquarter my visit to Arches, Canyonlands, Castle Valley. The jet boat trip with Canyonlands by Night/Day was awesome, as was the trip to Castle Valley. I have never been anywhere as peaceful! Delicate Arch? The hike was grueling, but what a view. I will never forget it as long as I live. Now if Moab would do something about it's streets. Lots of potholes and rough streets! This, however did not deter my enjoyment of my surroundings! Please don't become too commercial, this is one of the pristine areas I've seen. The La-Sal Mountains are breathtaking and seem to follow you wherever you go.

We have visited your beautiful area many years, and again will be coming out in Oct. 99. Your bike trails have the most beautiful views and being that I enjoy taking photos, it's a perfect place for me to do that. Delicate Arch is my favoite hike and we go there everytime we come! I can't rave enough about the bike trails. Even for a weeny like myself, I guess the Porkypine rim trail was the most scenic for me, but not far behind was the Jughandle loop trail, that one almost did me in. But we're back for more fun this year. Utah is my favorite state for beauty and friendliness also,

We had been looking forward to visit Moab while touring the SW of the USA and it was really as beautiful as we expected it to be. Flying over Canyonlands, walking through Park avenue, climbing up to Delicate Arch, watching a wonderful sunset, coming back next morning for the Devil's Garden,... all this transformed our trip in a wonderful and unforgetable experience. Thanks for keeping nature the way it is...!

Thanks for keeping nature the way it is...! I have been visiting Moab and my beloved Arches and Canyonlands almost yearly for the last 18+ years. I come to Moab in my darkest hours and in times of sublime joy. I came here to heal after my first husband died unexpectedly, and I honeymooned here with my new husband. I am fortunate to have relatives (Sue Husch and Brad Wallis) living in Moab. Although currently living in the Midwest, my heart belongs to Canyon Country. I've watched your economy grow impressively, but hopefully not so much to make it another Sedona. The charm of the area is the wildness and inaccessibility of some areas. I hope your town council and chamber of commerce does not lose sight of what created Moab. I would be great to be able to view job opportunities on your web site. My husband Michael and I will be in Moab the second week in September. Only a short while till I'm "home" again.

I stayed in Moab in June this year at the RedStone. Very nice hotel. Loved the town and wished I could live there. I sent a letter just recently requesting some info on the town so I could do a documentary for my cable access T.V. station here in Chaska. I did recieve some information-thank you, but I was wondering if there was anything more you could send me-maybe some history information if possible. Thank you for your time

Visited Moab in May and had a great time. Numerous trails to ride and the weather was beautiful. The last time was so fun that i thought why not do the numbing long drive again. So, here i go again with a different group of people down to the infamous Moab for some of the best riding in the U.S. I guess this says something about the area to torture myself with the drive twice in one year. See ya all down there for some sun and fun.

Hi... just a note to all the tourists that love that country.... Moab is not the Same as it once was but is still Beautiful...Please Help Keep Moab and the country around it beautiful as ever. By being respectful of it's beauty!! i.e Pick up after yourself stay on trails... etc... Moab is a Great Peaceful, Beautiful place to visit and get back to Nature.Away from all the filth of the Cities(that could be beautiful too if it was respected) As Many of us former and Moabites used to say respect it's beauty or "GET THE CURSE OF THE ROCK"S " !!!!!!!!!!!! As always, the past few years, we love coming to Moab, for 4x4ing, hiking, shopping all the great shops, sighting, the list goes on for this magical area, and your information center in town is always most helpful, one sour note this past trip, while shopping with friends, we entered Moabilia, located at 135 main street, the owner ? was very rude to us because we had a child with us, she targeted us as soon as we walked in the door, appoaching us 3 times while in her small shop, not once did our child touch but she asked us to remove our child from her shop, it seems she believes her inventory is more delicate than other shops, truly a disappointment, I'm grateful a woman like this isn't the grandmother to my child, thankfully your other shop owners aren't like that, we were happy to take our money elsewhere. My advice to Moabilia, put up a no child sign if we are unwanted. We'll never buy from this shop, but we will be back to see if we are treated like this again. By the way, this site is great, and always a great help.

Just returned from Moab yesterday after spending 8 fabulous and delightful days in your wonderful city. Never have I ever spent so much time exploring and enjoying a part of the country so much. Taking my 6 rolls of film in today. (That's 3 more rolls than I spent in Beijing, China 4 years ago. Walking on the Great Wall there was great...but all the splendor and eye-popping views that my family and I experienced in Moab will live with us forever.) Arches National Park, CanyonLand By Night, AND the Canyonland Park, petroglifs, (sp), Colorado river rafting with CanyonLand Voyages, Delicate Arch, The Skyway, mountain ranges...including The La Sals, fireworks on the 4th of July off the mountains, The Moab House - "Wilderness", sunsets, low humidity.....and not to forget the hospitality of all the places we visited - including the great people at the Moab Chamber of Commerce. Wow!! Now when people ask me where we went for vacation this year and they have never heard of Moab - they better be ready to sit down and listen. You all have so much to be proud of and a place like no other on earth. What beauty! -- Johnny George 7/2/99 thru 7/10/99

We will protect them as we use them and hope others will do the same. It is a real priviledge to be able to come to Utah and use the trail system.
