Information on accommodations, biking, river rafting Moab Utah

YOU GUEST IT!

Thank you for visiting http://www.moab-utah.com, the Moab Information Website. Here are some thoughts from our friends around the world! (We recently had to disable this service because of spam. Sorry.)
After taveling through the US we came to Moab twice( in 2001 and in 2004) Walking around Fisher Towers alone gave us the Feeling as if there would be no other person on earth. We allready decided to come back next summer to get more wet at the Colorado, to loose more sweat on the trials, to get more limebeer and to have the best vacation we ever had again. MOAB ROCKS and that the way it is. Michael

I was sent to Moab as an Rotary Exchange student in 1972. It was the most important year of my life. I look back on it as the most amazing formative experience of my life. I came from New Zealand as a 17 year old and wondered where I was in my life and the people of Moab became my family and friends. The Norman family ( Bob and Diane, RObert, Kinberley and Eric) have made me what I am today. The International Roatary Club of Moab can never know what they did for me and the Rotary sudents they hosted. If there are others out there please contat me. Living at Kayenta Heights was the pinnical of my life. The serenity and love a community gave me was so welcoming. A life changing experience. I would love to be in contact with the class of 72. I have the year book and am now married to a doctor and living in London... Please keep Moab a secret place as it is too special to become know to the world It is a sacred place. I will be back soon with my daughter toshare the!
most wonderous experience and life changing place in the world.

You have a great website. My family and I visit the area each October early in the month for a few days. We feel blessed to live so close. Your site is an integral part of our trip planning because we always do different things each year. This year it is Canyonlands by Night. Keep up the good work.

I am going to be traveling through Utah on vacation and I had heard of a scenic road with a scary wooden bridge that we would like to check it out. Can anyone please tell me what the name of this road is? Thanks.

My wife and I have been to Moab twice, and were counting down the days til we can return for a third trip. There's just so much to do in Moab, and so much to see that I don't think that we'll have enough time to do it all, which means we'll just have to plan a fourth trip.

My Father is a long time resident of Moab. I have only been there once many years ago to visit him. I was so impressed with the Moab area that I recommended this area to Arnold Palmer as he was at that time looking to build a PGA golf course. I spent several days with the Moab city planners putting together a video to send Mr. Palmer. My family and I are planning a return trip to Moab at Spring break in April 2005 to spend a week with my Father. We plan to stay at one of the local camping (RV/Cabin) facilities just outside Moab. I will be bringing our 4 wheelers so I can show off the scenic areas to my family. Note: Moab has come along ways in marketing itself both nationally and internationally. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! When one says: "This is truly GOD's country" they must be referring to Moab and its surrounding community.

Please keep up the good work with the website as it is one I will revisit to keep the 'fires of aniticipation fuelled'.

We just spent 2 wks in UT, our second trip out there and it is just gorgeous! We did the grand circle and saw more this trip. I love Moab and would love to live there--very clean town and everyone we met was so nice. Loved Canyonlands and went to Arches 3 times while there.

Wow.....we just returned from our unforgettable trip out to Moab. The main reason for us going was to 'lay my dad's ashes to rest'. I truly see why my father so loved this particular area. All but one of his kids made the long journey. We laid him to rest in the Canyonlands...WOW!!!!! The weather was perfect (altho I got major mosquito??? bites all over my legs..bummer!, the scenery bountiful and just alot of relaxing and peacefulness. When we HAD to start heading home, my Brother had left prior to us and they happened upon that awful tragedy on I28. I guess a 58 year old man from South Dakota had been shot and his camper stolen....we never heard why or anything??? Did Anybody??? So Sad. All in all we had such a great time....!!!Minnesota has never looked SOOOOO boring...."yawn"....

As the grand-daughter of the late John Causer and Judy Causer-Cathey, and daughter of Fred Causer...over the years of visiting my grandparents, I have come to appreciate how much you don't see in one trip. Every year there is always something new to see. I am planning a trip back to the lil' town which I have since referred to as a place I can call home as well. I plan to revisit places that I enjoyed as a youth and to visit the tree which was dedicated to my grandfather. If you know my grandparents and/or my dad..you can contact me through my email. See ya soon, MOAB!!!

I'm looking for any one of the Jones Family Members from Moab. There would be Brandon, Alisha, or Cindy? I'm an old family friend and would dearly love to get back in touch with their Aunt/sister Lyla Gruszkiecz sp? of Moab. I believe she's remarried now and different last name? Lyla has a daughter, Kim. Kim would be about 20 now, maybe? Thanks in advance!

Just got back from the April Action car show. Had a great time. Lots of cars and people enjoying the cars. Had one problem thow, tried to check into one of the campgrounds with our motorhome and car trailor and was verbaly assaulted by the owner, and in the end had rocks thrown at us by her. Had some close friends stay there as well and was treated badly as well. We were able to find lodging at another campground and all was well.
Talked with the owner were we ended up staying and she said that they get a lot of business from them because of the rudeness. I would just like to let folks know that this one campground would be the ONE to avoid. If you are going to Moab you will love it, but watch out for that one mean business owner.

I am looking for any information on my biological grandfather who passed away while hiking in the hills in Moab back in I believe 1990 or 1991. His name was Percy Benton. His nickname was "Signpainter". He had 7 children. If anyone knew him please contact me. I would like to know about my grandfather seeing that I never got to meet him. I know he loved to write children's books and he played the guitar. His nickname was signpainter because that's another thing he did was paint and paint signs. He died of a heart attack while hiking in the hills in the area. Please if anyone has information or knows his 2nd wife.... sorry I can't remember her name. I only know that he was also once married to a woman named Vera who died of Cervical Cancer in 1969. I am the biological daughter of his daughter Patricia. I was placed up for adoption in 1977.

This Moab Information Site is an incredible website! Useful, complete, easy to use, and so full of informative links I can't quite believe it. We have just used your site to find and book a B&B and have previewed the menu at the brewery. Using your site, I was able to preview virtually all the available lodging and activities in the area and make my own comparisons before making any telephone calls. I book a lot of travel for my family, and I have never encountered a travel site as good as yours. Thanks, and congratulations.

I just returned from a trip to the Four Corners region. I spent 3 days/2 nights of my trip in Moab. What a wonderful place! I will be returning someday (hopefully soon). Arches National Park was breathtaking. The town was wonderful. Great people, and so laid back. I immediately felt at home. A lady who worked in a local gallery suggested we have dinner at the Red Cliffs Lodge. I am so glad we took her suggestion. The drive along the Colorado River at sundown was probably the most beautiful stretch of highway I've ever seen. The lodge was gorgeous, the food was delicious and the service second to none. I'm looking forward to a time when I can return and again enjoy that wonderful town!

I discovered Moab and the rest of southern Utah about 20 years ago and fell in love with the beautiful scenery. I told myself, that someday I'll live here, unless I can find somewhere better. In June, I visited Alaska, the last state I needed to visit to see all 50. Guess what? I've now, "seen it all," and when I retire in five years, I'm going to the most beautiful, serene and awe inspiring place in the USA...Moab and the surrounding areas....Arches, Canyonlands, Glen Canyon, Capitol Reef, Bryce and Zion....truly, God's Country!!!

I love Moab and that area. You site is informative both for the Moab novice and for those of us who remember Ed. Speaking of which..... It it with great sadness that I sat the Water Park and the Adventure Park. For gods sake what are those people thinking. The Colorado and Green Rivers are right there and there is more adventure then one could hope to find in a lifetime. Theme parks be damned! "It's not the beer can that is ugly, it's the road." I moved from Moab in 1971. Yep, I used to ride the trails as a kid with a banana seat. Never knew it would catch on. Moab will always be my home. My Dad is buried there. Still have family there. I went through with my family reciently and they would hardly even look out the windows, said it all looked the same to them, It drove me NUTS. Me, I could hardly stay on the road for looking. I have been going to moab every year for 2 weeks for the last seven years, biking and hiking, the only regrets that I have is when I have to leave, waiting a whole year to back to moab is torture. never in my life have I found so much peace and tranquility, and not to mention going just plain crazy doing the poison spider, and porcupine rim, and dont forget the city market some great midnight snacks there.

Great site. After visiting UTAH in 1992,1998 and 2000 we are in Moab in October 7th-10th this year. We are the first time in this area, but we must say: Everyone who has been in Utah`s beautyfull landscape feels that he must come back. It¥s a long time reaching October. Best greetings Rosi and uwe.

Saw an article on WND where Mayor Sakrison had objected to a bomb with the acronym MOAB ( massive ordnance air burst). Way to go Mayor. Cant say I'd like a weapon with a name like my town that could confuse people who may not be able to tell them apart. By the way, wasnt' Moab the old testament son of Lot's oldest daughter fathered by Lot? A bomb's name IS aLOT worse? Great state, Geezer

Great website. Very informative. I booked our first campsite stay thru it in 1999 and again in 2001. We've got a lot of scenic trails here in Alberta but Moab is a taste of something completely different. A great holiday in May (when our trails are still snow covered). Who's to argue with sunshine, trail riding, and a cold beer or five at poolside ?

We visit the Moab area 3 to 4 times a year and everytime we feel greatful this spectacular place is right in our backyard. It took a few visits and a little effort to discover some of the less traveled areas but it was worth it. Your web site helped us more than once and we thank you! To those visiting the Moab area please remember to tread lightly and show the locals a little respect. They deserve it for puting up with all us tourists.

Well, I made it back to Moab again in June. The beauty of Moab and Utah in particular is just mind boggling. It never leaves your heart. I appreciate that most of Utah is still relatively unspoiled and remote compared to the eastern US. I will continue to dream of and plan my next visit because I will never get tired of traveling the highways and byways of this great state. Thanks for all the great memories...

To All Members of F.O.C. and Jeep Lovers: Here it is July 2002 and nearly three years have passed since July 28, 1999. Spent Memorial Day Weekend at the famous Lions Back Campground with owners Suzanne and Mike...with the Full Moon coming up over the LaSal Mountains...great place to be and remember the boy from Holladay, the first time he went up Lions Back, rolled on Potato Salad, went up Moab Rim and then it rained & snowed, Poison Spider and Golden Spike many, many times and Pritchett Canyon. Moab is my favorite spot to visit...either in person or in my dreams. Here's to you, Collin Florence, who is somewhere over the rainbow.

Visited Moab summer of '80. Remember when clipless pedals hit the seen? I do. I broke mine in at Moab, along with my collar bone, on the 3rd day of a two week MTB excursion. Back in the saddle two days later. The Moab area was too awsome to miss. People were great also. And the hospital has fast friendly service too. I plan on returning this October for the Fat Tire Festival. Anyone heading there from the mid-west interested in sharing a ride please contact me at my email address. I have a '98 Jeep Cherokee Classic and am willing to drive. So far it is just me going. PDH

Two years ago, a avid jeep and trail riding buddy of mine decided we were going to Moab, and climb the Lions Back, well 17 hrs. later we are sitting at the base and quickly decided...we don't have enough beer. That baby is scary. We spent 3 days camped out trying to get drunk enough or stupid enough to make a climb, that we spent 17 hrs. driving to....it never happened. But the beauty of the place made the trip well worth it. We did ride a lot of the trails. To anyone who has never been there...go, or you have wasted away your whole life. I have been all over the world and seen many things, but the good-o-USA still amazes me with all it's beauty.

I was driving from Michigan to California in September of 2000 when I decided to take a little detour and spend a night in Moab. As I was driving into town on the 191 it was pitch black outside and there was the most incredible lightning storm. I woke up early the next morning and took my Jeep around the Gemini Bridges Trail; the scenery was amazing and I knew I would have to come back. The following August I spent a week in town and fell in love even more (I highly recommend a rafting trip, but spend most of your time floating down the river yourself, not in the boat!). Anyway, without rambling on anymore, I really want to buy a ranch in the area. If anyone knows of any property for sale or lease or has any relocation tips please let me know! I would also like to have my own business, perhaps a hotel or motel. Thanks for everything!

Great Web site! We were in Moab in 1995 for a few days and we still long to return. The people were very nice, the scenery the best, and the food was great(love them Navajo tacos!). I had anticipated our hike to Delicate Arch for months and it was everything I had hoped for. The next day we found a beautiful place to build a house on the LaSalle Mt. After having a wonderful time in Durango we had a very bad experience in Moab. We will not be eating at the Slickrock Cafe if we are ever able to visit this beautiful place and stay for a while. Passing through on April 20 at around 7 in the morning we stopped for breakfast. There is a waitress at the Slickrock Cafe that questions how much you tip and then gives advice on how to tip. Until this happened our trip had been great. This is how I will remember our stop in Moab.

We will be making our first trip to Moab and the Grand Circle trip this June. Would like some references from experienced visitors as to several comfortable and reasonable lodges or inns or motels to stay in. Also, should we take tours or do it on our own? What are the delicious and neat places to eat? Thanks for any tips you can give us.....Bob

My company is sending me out of the U.S. twice this year, I'd trade both trips for an extra week in Moab! We'll be back in Moab for vacation this summer, does anyone know of any horse rental/rides in the area? The kids are horse crazy right now. I actually offered to get a pool this summer if the kids would do with out our annual trip to Moab, they voted and Moab won! We can't wait to get back to Moab.

The Colorado Plateau is simply the most beautiful land on earth. From Bluff and Blanding in the south, across Boulder Mountain, through Robber's Roost and the wonderful remote and unknown San Rafael Swell, this is where God put the West. I know I found the right place, so I gave up my city slicker job and moved to where life moves a little slower, the skies are the clearest of blues, and the rocks are so inviting. No matter your interest - outdoor sports, geology, paleontology, archeology, or just a scenery junkie, you can spend years exploring Southern and South Eastern Utah and never really know the land. Hope to see some of you in the Swell, that will be the next National Monument soon. It will be a BLAST!

Living in Orem has givin me the opportunity to visit much of the state. I always find myself returning to Moab. If you have never experienced the Easter Jeep Safari I would definetly recommend a visit. It's one huge week long party, even if you don't four wheel. The Moab residents are awesome; the scenery and feeling you get out in the pristine country around the town are experiences no one could forget. Moab has my vote for the 8th wonder of the world.

Hello, I'd like to add an event in Moab please. Moab 'Zu Zoo V, May 16th - May 19th Isuzu enthusiasts from all over the US come to Moab for the annual Moab gathering. This will be our 5th year holding the event in Moab and we are currently the 3rd largest BLM permitted event in Moab according to the BLM in recreational use days. More information is available at http://www.zuzoo.org or in general discussion at http://www.4x4wire.com/isuzu in the talk forums. Last year over 120 Isuzu vehicles of all shapes sizes and modifications participated and we had representatives from all major Isuzu vendors and Isuzu Corporate also participated and bought our Saturday Banquet dinner. We love coming to Moab each and every year. We enjoy all the great people we meet in town and out on the trail. Sharing water with a thirsty biker on Slickrock was one of the most enjoyable moments in creating a common ground between the two different trail users.

We were eating at one of the great downtown Cafes and we heard this grown man just sobbing in the parking lot next to a smashed bike. I remember his friends calling him Brandon. Moab is great! Had a great time in Moab last Spring. Unfortunately our trip was cut short when my friend Brandon hit his front brakes on a crazy downhill trail and went flying overhis handlebars. It wasn't too bad, just a gash on the head. The LifeFlight people were fast and came to the rescue in no time. I am looking forward to going again this year, hopefully my friend Brandon will learn his right from his left by then.

April of last year was incredible for hiking and biking! I went with my nephew and cousin and the weather was perfect. My cousin Brandon was a scared of most of the trails even thought he is 22 years old. He cried himself to sleep both nights. Moab locals were great as were the trails. 1st: man what a w/site. Someone has their stuff together on marketing (wanna move to the Appalachian Mountains). Boy could you do wonders for our little town. TOURISM: biking, hiking, camping and fishing! There is no industry in our little town and I am not puter literate enough to make a good showing for us. The author would be a valuable asset to any town and to any business. 2nd: I was looking for woodworking sites and "Moab the new covenant woodshop" sent me there when I tried to enter it. I'M GLAD IT DID!! I now know where I must take my wife and I for our vacation to the West. This town is definately as we say SMOKING. Oh, should I bring you guys some of the local "corn squeezings" so you can at least savor a small bit of the Applachians? lol Thanks for the info and a pleasant puter session.
