State of Utah, USA

Utah is the nation's 45th state, having been admitted to the Union in January of 1896. Almost 80% of Utah's residents live along the Wasatch Front, centering on Salt Lake City. This makes for vast expanses of uninhabited land that includes beautiful parks, campgrounds and wilderness areas. Be sure to bring camping gear when you visit as Utah is well-known for its outdoor recreation. As a mostly semi-arid to desert climate, be sure to be prepared for hot days and cold nights. A good quality sleeping bag, warm and cold weather clothes and an emergency kit with plenty of water and non-perishable food should be packed when traveling through Utah.
