I'm sitting in the far-away cold, dark Germany and I remember longing to our Holiday that we hat spend in the great USA, visiting the Nationalparks in the western part of the Country. We had seen Yosemite, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Grand Canyon, Capitol Reef, Zion, Bryce Canyon, Death Valley, Canyonlands and Arches. I could only say, that the Moab-area is the nicest place we ever stay. Just very close to great Outdoor-Recreation. I hope I could come back next year.

We recently had the pleasure of visiting Moab twice in a one month period. The first trip i made with my husband and his parents, the second trip we brought our teenage daughter back with us. I would have to say that Dead Horse Point had to be my favorite site of the area. It was magnificent, i enjoyed the beauty of the canyon and the river much more than the Grand Canyon. Moab is unique, and the people who work in the town, quaint to say the least.

Moab is a great town, the bookstore, the ice cream, the neighborly but not intrusive ambience. The "expedition" businesses and people, the center of the good, non-developed natural world. (I'm sure there must be golf courses and ski resort damage around, but I didn't see it. I'll be back next summer for more than the one week I spent this last one. This is a great site, too.

Our family visited Moab last week. We toured Arches NP, Dead Horse Point SP, saw the dinosaur tracks, and much more. We stayed at the Bowen, clean and very reasonable. Favorite eats were the Moab Diner, and pizza at McStiff's--great microbrews too. Great little shops on Main Street. The kids really loved Arches and hiking and climbing the rocks. Would love to return in the future.

My wife and I have visited Moab 3 times. This is one of the best places in the whole world. Looking at your website makes me want to pack up right now and head on out there. We have enjoyed ourselves tremendously each time; so much to do and see. I would recommend Moab to anybody. The only thing that bothers me is the growth and development but it is still a beautiful, beautiful area.

Love Moab. Thanks for the memories! Had a great time in Moab this past June 28-July 3rd. Favorite eats were Moab Diner, Buck's Grill, Seczchuan House and Moab brewery. Best expresso at Mondo Cafe and the Peace tree Cafe which is only coffee house open past 5pm. Loved Canyonlands NP, Arches NP and the LA SAL mountains loop. Best hike was to delicate arch, DO NOT MISS THIS. ARCHWAY INN was the best! THE only bummer of the trip was the speeding ticket I got from Park Ranger Webster in the speed trap set up in Arches NP. Ranger Webster in Arches NP is a REAL JERK so watch out! WATCH OUT FOR THE SPEED TRAPS AND UNPOSTED RADAR IN ARCHES NP AT SUNSET JUST AS MOST PEOPLE ARE LEAVING THE PARK!!!!! THEY DON"T TELL YOU ABOUT RADAR USE IN THE PARK AND IT IS NOT POSTED ON SIGNS. Anyway, not even over zealous park rangers like Ranger Webster can take anything from this area. I WILL return soon.

Yep, the good old days in Utah. My dad and I love hiking, and do it whenever we can, back when we lived in Utah almost a year ago, we'd hike in the Moab area all the time. We love Washington the hiking, scenery, e.t.c. but we'll never forget Moab! The desert sand, arches, the moonlight, the heat, it is the best! When I grow up I'm going to hopefully retire in Moab and get a llama ranch. Thanx for making this site, it rocks!

IN MY OPINION,THE OWNERS OF THIS RANCH MUST NOT CARE ABOUT THE PERSONAL SATEFY OF THEIR CUSTOMERS.WHY? BECAUSE THEY EMPLOY KNOWN REPEAT OFFENDERS FELONY CRIMINALS AS THEIR STAFF.THEY SEEM NOT TO CARE IF THE STAFF HAS A HISTORY OF BURGERLY,METH MANUFACTORING.,AND VIOLENCE. WHEN ADVISED OF THIS THE OWNERS DID NOTHING. THEREFOR PUTTING ALL CLIENTS AND LOCALS IN POSSIBLE DANGER.

DUDE!! I love Southeastern Utah, I used to live in Provo, UT and my dad took me down to the Moab area every month. I learned to be addicted to the place! I love the redrock, and the desert, I've drawn countless pictures of Delicate Arch. This site helps me stay in touch with the area. Thanx!

Thanks for the Moab Site. We used the page to help us gather information for our trip to that area. We stayed at Morris's Last Resort, we recomend it for anyone that like a little more remote then staying at a hotel. We also went on the Skyway Lift, it was great you could see all of Moab and could hike and see the bike trails, it was one of the perfect setting's to watch the sunset. We also went to Arches, Canyonlands(Island in the Sky and Needles District), don't miss on Wilson Arch on your way to needles distric. We also went to Dead HorseState Park. We took a tour on the Colorado with Tag-A-Long Expeditions, Brian was our tour guide, very enjoyable and informative guide. Oh I can't forget the places we ate, For the best icecream in town Moab Diner, had an very enjoyable meal at Buck's Grill House, the prime rib is known on Wednesdays at Branding Iron, if your in the mood for Mexican go to Banditos Grill. Our stay was an enjoyable one and the National Park Rangers and the People we had enclountered here were friendly and informative. Thanks again Moab.

I lived in Moab when from 1960-63. We spent all our time at the Arches,Hole in the Rock, and Dead Horse Point. My mom was asked to be in John Waynes movie THE COMANCHEROS which was filmed there-we used to visit the movie sets and take pictures and meet people. We lived on main street. My brother and I used to walk our pet skunk-yes you heard me right-pet skunk-down main street on a leash. If any Moab residents read this and remember us, I would love to hear from you.Russ and Gloria Brown, my brother was in jr. high there.Have been back to visit Moab a few times, our mom lives in Grand Junction.Moab is a very beautiful part of our country and I have fond memories of it.

Thanks very much to the web master. This site has been a very valuable tool in organizing my trip to Moab and it has made my girlfreind really excited about going. Even though we don't live all that far away (about 6 hours) it will be our first time there (I used to live much further away). I take road trips several times a year and this site is definately the most comprehensive I have ever found for preplanning. Even to the point of finding vegetarian friendly resturants before going there! I will have fun on our trip to Moab and I hope anybody reading this message does too!

I loved everyting about Moab I think that the enviromentlist are doing a wonderful job. In there quest to make Moab a ghost town. How they closed down all Of those jeep trails that was brillent. And the whole thing about draining lake Powell that is so awesome. Even though it would just be a stinky dump that no one would be allowed to see. California would hate Utah and there would all out warfare. That would be so cool instead of fearing forein counties we could just fear Callies

I dream daily of returning to Moab daily. No place has gotten into my blood like this. I'm a mountain biker, and every time I come, I get a little better, walk a little less, and I go home with memories of intense struggle in a vicious environment; one which I eventually mastered. I now come twice a year, but that's really not enough...

Do clouds over your area glow pink at night? Do parking lots or roadway lighting shine glare into your eyes when you drive at night? If so, your community needs to address its outdoor lighting policies. Good lighting does not shine glare and never uses more than is needed for the task. Good lighting also does not cross property lines to shine onto other properties or into people's windows at night. Please visit the Light Pollution Awareness Website to discover how many ways that obtrusive lighting affects you. http://members.aol.com/ctstarwchr If your community is considering an outdoor lighting ordinance or is considering adding outdoor lighting guidelines to the zoning code please attend the town meetings and show your support because it will save everyone in your community money and improve your safety and quality of life. It will also help to preserve the pristine night sky for you and all future generations to come. This view has been with our planet since the dawn of time itself and it deserves to be protected. Addressing obtrusive outdoor lighting will achieve this and it is all win-win for everyone. HI, We are german travellers and we had visited Moab during our holidays in July 2000. We liked it very much. Especially the great Nationalparks Arches and Canyonlands are really wonderful. Moab is a perfect city for any case of outdoor experience. It's a really lovely pulsing City. During our visit we had done a 4-week roundtrip. We fly in San Francisco, had gone to Yosemite, Yellowstone, Arches, Canyonlands, Monument Valley, Capitol Reef N.P., Bryce Canyon, Zion N.P., Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, Death Valley N.P. and back to San Francisco. But the area around Moab was really the greatest place to stay. We are sure that we will come back, maybe in summer 2001. Then we will visit The Needles Section of Canyonlands N.P., drive on Highway #128, hike the complete Devils Garden Trail in Arches N.P., bike on the famous Moab Slickrock, visit the Dead Horse State park and much more. We will be very happy, if it could be realized. Till then ... we remember wistful of Great Moab. The Web-Site is a good thing to soothe our homesick. I am orginally from Missouri and spent much of my vacation time over the years in and around Moab. After an early retirement, I moved to Flagstaff Arizona and I am a member of the Flagstaff Bicycle Advisory Committee. I am interest in knowing the following: I remember when McDonald's restaurant had a sign outside of Moab that read something like "We're the other Arches" and I always hated that sign. Someone told be recently that they were sure the sign had been taken down and I was wondering was it voluntary or did you all force them to do so? If you forced them can you tell me how? We are having a similiar problem here in Flagstaff. Thanks

I was in Moab for 4 days last March for my first Spring Break trip. We had followed the snowstorm in, and we feared that our trip would be ruined by chilly weather and snowy ground. Well, someone was smiling on us because we enjoyed 4 days of absolutely gorgeous weather. Moab was an experience I will never forget in my lifetime. I traveled from Arches to Canyonlands and I rode the entire Slickrock trail (I have the scars to prove it!). Looking at this site and all the beautiful pictures brings tears to my eyes as I remember how heart-breakingly beautiful Moab and Southeastern Utah really are. Great site!

Just cam back home from Moab/Canyonlands/Arches/Dead Horse Point. What a great trip - my second in the last year and a half. Kayaking, Hiking, Camping, Jeep'in. This has to be one of the best adult playgrounds in the world, don't know if I'll be ever able to take in it all. My Top five things to do or see while in Moab area- 1)Kayak or Raft the Colorado/Green Rivers, 2) Take a jeep out into Canyonlands, 3) Just camp outisde - deadhorse or Canyonlands - take some time to soak in the scenery, 4) For long hikes - southern Canyonlands any of trails that take you to the Joint Trail, 5) Double O trail/Primitive Trail in Arches - alot of scenery and great hike but can be done in short period of time.

First of all Southern Utah is my favortie state and I will be traveling there soon to see the Shakespearean Festival in Cedar City and marvel at the beauty of Zion. Form there Moab and other areas will be on the list of places to go and things to do. I came upon this site trying to find Kathy Cooney artwork....specifically her print Whispering Smoke. Moab is the hottest place on earth (no pun intended) for mountain biking. We just got back from there about an hour ago after a 15 hour drive, and I'm still wondering if they ever found the 14 year old boy lost out in Porcupine Rim. I was amazed by the helicopters out at the parking lot of Slickrocks trailhead landing and taking off with rescuers. Any info will be appreciated. God Bless to him and his family.

I dont think many "Brits" have (as yet) discovered Moab. We are about to fly once again to the USA for an extended visit, and of course MOAB is top of our list of "must go again " places. We were there 3 years ago, the scenery is just fantastic. I would love to know the "E" mail address of a river rafting couple, her name is PATTI, his maybe PETE.....they gave us a ride of a lifetime on the river, and they were a really friendly sincere couple. We want to book again! ! !, part of their phone number was actually M-O-A-B.....Anyone know who they are? We have a large RV (35ft), can anyone recommend a great site to stay, would prefer full hook ups to dry camping. Great site, lets keep Moab a secret... and not tell the Brits about it ! Would love to hear from any one commected with the Fire Dept. Maureen

My wife and I are taking what we are calling "The Great American Road Trip" from July 15th-30th. We will be staying in Denver for a few days. Then, heading west to stay with a friend in San Francisco. And then back through Arizona and New Mexico. We planned to stop at really interesting places along the way. And while planning our route we thought that Moab would be a nice place to stay for a day. We want to see arches national park. After looking at this website, this area has become more of a destination rather than just a stop along the way. Thanx for great site. Greg B.

Enjoyed looking at all of the pictures of the Moab area and can't believe how much it's changed. I used to work on cattle ranches in Castle Valley (Shumway's) and in Fisher Valley (Taylor's), also down the road at the Dugout Ranch (Indian Creek Cattle Co.) for the Redd family out of Lasal. Graduated from GCHS in Moab in 1967. Sure would like to hear from any old friends/classmates in the area.

I just got back from Moab yesterday, and I already want to go back, despite the gruelling 9 hour road trip across northern Arizona. We went there primarily to raft down the Colorado on a one day trip. It was one of the most exciting things I've ever done, and now I'm addicted to rafting!
